
Sergio Abrignani
Full Professor of General Pathology, Università degli Studi di Milano
He is an MD and an expert in immune responses to viruses and tumors. He discovered the HCV virus receptor and has defined new targets for immunotherapy in human cancers. He’s the CSO of the National Institute of Molecular Genetics “Romeo ed Enrica Invernizzi” in Milan and is a professor of Immunology at the University of Milan. He has received the Gold Medal for Merit to Public Health and obtained an ERC Advanced Grant. He has founded 2 startups for new antitumor immunotherapies and holds top positions as scientific advisor or administrator in no-profit scientific organizations and biotech companies.

Paola Angeletti
Chief Sustainability Officer, Intesa Sanpaolo
Graduated with honors from Bocconi University, she developed her career in the financial sector both in Italy and abroad.
Since 2024, she has been the Chief Sustainability Officer of Intesa Sanpaolo, with responsibilities for strategic direction of ESG topics, culture, innovation and a strong commitment to social issues and the fight against inequalities. Previously she was the Chief Operating Officer of the Group, overseeing Organization, HR, Trade Union Relations, Education and Training, Internal Communication, Health and Safety and Physical Security. In the past she was responsible for the Group’s of International Banking Division and before that for Intesa Sanpaolo’s Shareholdings and M&A Activities.
She is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center and Vice Chairwoman of Neva SGR, as well as a Board Member of Banca Fideuram, Eurizon, Intesa Sanpaolo Assicurazioni and ABI.
In 2022, she received the Mela d’Oro Award of the Marisa Bellisario Foundation and was included by Forbes among Italy’s 100 most influential successful women.

Maria Anghileri
President of Young Entrepreneurs, Confindustria
Born in Lecco in 1987, Maria Anghileri is the COO of the Eusider Group, a leader in the Italian steel industry. A Law graduate from Bocconi University, she furthered her education at Harvard Business School. After a legal career, she joined Eusider in 2016. Active in Confindustria since 2015, she has held key roles, including National Vice President of the Young Entrepreneurs (2020-2024), developing projects on generational transition in family businesses. Since November 2024, she has been President of G.I. and Vice President of Confindustria.

Giovanni Azzone
President, Fondazione Cariplo and ACRI
Giovanni Azzone, 64 years old, has served as President of Fondazione Cariplo since May 2023; taught Business and Strategic Decision-Making at the Politecnico di Milano, where he served as Rector from 2010 to 2016. He has undertaken numerous roles within institutions, corporations, and non-profit organizations.
He is currently President of IFOM, the molecular oncology research institute of Fondazione AIRC and undertake a variety of roles for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, ISTAT… he served as President of the Fondazione Comunitaria di Milano, the community foundation focused on the city of Milan, promoted by Fondazione Cariplo in 2018.

Gabriele Buia
President, Unione Parmense degli Industriali
A fourth-generation entrepreneur, Gabriele Buia is currently the Chairman and Sole Shareholder of Buia Nereo, a company that has been operating in the construction industry for sixty years. Since June 2022, he has also served as President of the Parma Industry Association (Unione Parmense degli Industriali).
He has extensive experience within the Confindustria system, particularly in the construction sector. He was President of the Parma Builders Association (2000-2006), President of Ance Emilia-Romagna (2006-2013), National Vice President of Ance (2009-2017), and National President of Ance (2017-2022). He is currently a member of Confindustria’s General Council.

Tommaso Calarco
Full Professor of Quantum Computing, Università di Bologna
Prof. Dr. Tomasso Calarco has been a full professor at the University of Cologne since 2018 and at
the University of Bologna since 2023. He received his PhD at the University of Ferrara and started to
work as a postdoc in the group of P. Zoller at the University of Innsbruck. He was appointed as a
Senior Researcher at the BEC Centre in Trento in 2004 and as a Professor for Physics at
the University of Ulm in 2007, where he then became Director of the Institute for Complex Quantum
Systems and of the Centre for Integrated Quantum Science and Technology. He has authored in 2016
the Quantum Manifesto, which initiated the European Commission’s Quantum Flagship initiative,
and is currently the Chairman of one of the Flagship’s Governing Bodies: The Quantum Community
Network (QCN). In 2020, together with the QCN, he has launched an initiative towards the creation
of a consortium of European quantum industries, which has been legally established in 2021 under
the name of European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC).

Angelo Camilli

Angelo Camilli is Vice President of Confindustria for Credit, Finance and Taxation.
He is the founder and CEO of the Consilia Group, operating in the sector of professional training and health and safety in the workplace.
He has been Deputy Vice President of Rome Technopole since 2022.

Frank Cinque
General Manager, E4Impact Foundation
Frank Cinque served as Managing Director of ALTIS – Graduate School Business and Society of Catholic University of Milan from 2006 to 2015.
There, in 2010, he collaborated in the launch of the E4Impact initiative to train impact entrepreneurs across Africa. In 2015, when E4Impact became a Foundation, Frank was appointed as General Manager.
He lectures in various editions of the E4Impact MBAs in Africa.

Francesco De Santis
Vice President for Research and Development, Confindustria
Francesco De Santis, born in Milan in 1956, has a degree in Pharmacy and is Chairman of Italfarmaco SpA, a family-owned pharmaceutical company founded in 1938. He joined the company in 1981, holding the positions of General Manager, Director, Chairman and directly participating in the internationalisation process and in the establishment of the Group’s companies. He is currently Vice President of Confindustria Research & Development (a position held from 2020 to 2024, and also Member of the R&I Technical Committee from 2012 to 2019). He was Vice President of Farmindustria from 2011 to 2019 and now sits on the Presidential Committee.

Massimiliano Di Silvestre
President and CEO, BMW Italia
Massimiliano Di Silvestre, 54 years old, has been President and CEO of BMW Italia S.p.A. since 2019. He holds a degree in Economics and Business from the University of Bologna. He has been working for the BMW Group since 2001 (with a break between 2009 and 2012, during which he gained significant professional experience in other automotive companies), holding various positions including Regional Director of the Sales Division of the Italian branch, CEO of BMW Roma, Country Manager of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, and Managing Director of BMW Group Hungary.

Giovanni Fassio

Giovanni Fassio is a member of the board of The NY Climate Exchange – one of the largest US research centers on climate – and has been the first chair of its programming committee. Speaker on deep-tech and climate, Giovanni also launched a climate/deep tech angel syndicate in 2022 focused on Italian founders with 15 active investments. A Harvard MBA, Giovanni is a Partner at Boston Consulting Group in Boston with 10+ years of experience in technology incubation and scaling. He focuses on private investing, climate, SW and deep-tech product and go-to-market strategies.

Vittoria Ferragamo
Sustainability and Special Projects Manager, Il Borro Toscana
Born in New York, Vittoria Ferragamo studied in top European schools, earning a degree in International Communication. Passionate about equestrian sports, she competed internationally. Since 2013, she has been on Il Borro’s Board, overseeing sustainability, the organic garden, and agricultural products. She leads projects on beekeeping and biodiversity, promoting an innovative approach to sustainable farming. She lives in Siena, a city renowned for its equestrian heritage.

Daniela Fumarola
General Secretary, Cisl
Daniela Fumarola, 58 years old, born in Taranto, graduated in sociology from the “Cattolica” University, was elected CISL General Secretary on 12 February 2025. She began her trade union career in the Federation of Agricultural labourers. She led the CISL in Taranto and in the Puglia region. Among the most important areas of trade union action are the procedures for transforming undeclared work into regular employment, the territorial pacts in the agricultural sector, the environmental remediation of the former Ilva industrial site, the many initiatives in favour of youth employment, people who are not self-sufficient and maternity protection.

Giovanni Gorno Tempini

Giovanni Gorno Tempini became Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti on 24 October 2019 and of CDP Reti SpA on 28 November 2019. On 2 April 2020 he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of CDP Equity SpA. and of Fondazione CDP on 11 November 2021.
Since December 2024, he has been a member of the Corporate Governance Committee made up of business associations (ABI, ANIA, Assonime, Confindustria) and professional investors ( Assogestioni, the Italian Asset Management Association) and Borsa Italiana.

On April 2020 he has been appointed Member of the Committee of Experts on Economic and Social matters led by Vittorio Colao (DPCM, April 10th 2020) at the Prime Minister’s Office. Antonio Gozzi is an Italian entrepreneur, President of Federacciai and member of the General Council and the Presidency Council of Confindustria. He is President of Duferco Participations Holding S.A, an international Group present in over 20 countries involved in the steel, energy and shipping sectors. In Italy, the Group controls 100% of the activities of Duferco Energia, one of the leading operators in the energy market, and of Duferco Travi e Profilati, the most important Italian manufacturer of steel beams for construction. Since 2007, he is the President of Virtus Entella.

Francesca Lavazza

Mario Molteni

Mario Molteni is Full Professor of Corporate Strategy at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan and CEO of E4Impact Foundation. He was recently appointed as Director of the Plan with Africa of Università Cattolica.

Letizia Moratti

Chido Munyati

Chido Munyati is the Director and Head of Africa at the World Economic Forum, responsible for shaping and leading the regional agenda for Africa. Previously, Chido practiced law at Froriep, a prominent Swiss law firm, and served at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
In 2017, Chido was selected as one of nineteen emerging global leaders for the World Economic Forum’s prestigious Global Leadership Fellows (GLF) program, a rigorous three-year initiative designed to equip fellows with skills, frameworks, and experiences necessary to drive systemic change through public-private cooperation.

Emanuele Orsini

Emanuele Orsini is President of Confindustria since May 2024. He has also been President of Assolegno and President of Federlegno Arredo, the Federation of Wood, Cork, Furniture, and Furnishing Industries. Besides being a member of Confindustria’s General Council since 2017, from 2020 to 2024 he was National Vice President for Credit,Finance and Taxation.
He is currently CEO of Sistemi Costruzioni, his family business in the wood construction and industrial logistics sector. Since 2024, he is President of Tino Prosciutti SpA operating in the food sector. In 2018 he was rewarded by the Minister of the Environment for the eco-sustainable projects rolled out in providing emergency housing solutions in the Marche Region following the earthquake that struck Central Italy.

Lara Ponti

In the 1990s she worked for an extended period in the Third Sector, as manager of social cooperatives.
In 2010, she joined Ponti, the family business that has been successfully producing vinegar for nine generations, owing to its deep roots in the local territory and its constant focus on innovation. Here, she has developed innovation processes, from generational changeover to digital and sustainable transformation.

Mario Zanetti
President’s Delegate for the Blue Economy, Confindustria
Mario Zanetti has been CEO of Costa Crociere since April 2023. In January 2024 he was also appointed President of Confitarma, and in May 2024, Confindustria President’s Delegate for the Economy of the Sea. He has worked at Costa Crociere since 1999, where he took on positions carrying ever greater responsibility, leading the company’s operations in Asia from 2016 to 2020 and then holding the positions of Chief Commercial Officer and General Manager. He has a degree in Maritime and Transport Economics from the University of Genoa, and further advanced his education at INSEAD Business School.

Antonio Zoccoli
President, Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare
President of the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) since July 2019, Antonio Zoccoli is professor of physics at the University of Bologna. He carries out experimental research in the field of fundamental, nuclear and subnuclear physics and has been a member of several international collaborations, at Rutherford Lab in UK, at CERN in Switzerland and at the DESY laboratory in Hamburg (Germany). Since 2005 he is a member of the ATLAS collaboration at CERN, which, together with the CMS collaboration, announced the first observation of the Higgs boson in July 2012.
Since June 2021 he is President of CONPER (Council of the Presidents of Italian Public Research Institutes) and since July 2022 he is President of the Foundation ICSC National Research Centre for High Performance Computing, Big Data and Quantum Computing.
